STEEL MASTERCLASS 2005

The Berlage institute Steel Masterclass 2005 will be the fourth edition of a series of five, yearly workshops. The series intends to enrich the experience of young designers in working side to side with their next design discipline. Also the participants are able to broaden their knowledge and expertise on the fields of steel-design research and -practice.
For the building industry as a whole, the results of the workshops
Masterclass Steel work as an inspiration and stimulating guidance in developing new methods and techniques for steel production.

PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE
The masters of the Masterclass Steel 2005 are:
• Christian Veddeler and Holger Hoffmann, architects (UN Studio and Genericdesignlab, Amsterdam) with Wolf Mangelsdorf (Bureau Happold, London)
• Liesbeth van der Pol, architect (Atelier Zeinstra van der Pol, Amsterdam)
• Chris Wilkinson and Jim Eyre, architects (Wilkinson Eyre Architects, Londen)
• Laurent Ney, architect / engineer (Ney and partners, Brussel)

The participants are guided by well known professionals in architecture and structural engineering. In advance, these masters will formulated the
workshop tasks, in cooperation with workshop coordinator Prof. Victor Mani (Berlage Institute).During the final presentation of the masterclass, the results will be commented by the masters and representatives of Dutch architecture, engineering and building industry.
